The scale of the map is approximately 15 miles across. It is about 400 miles north/south, and 200 miles east/west at its narrowest point. Population was about 5 million in 1998. The biggest city is Minneapolis (pop 382,000) and the capital is St Paul (pop 287,000). These two towns lie on either side of the Mississippi River and are referred to as "the twin cities". We had quite a few concerts in and around St Paul, with the summer camp break in between. We played in small churches like the Evangelical Lutheran in Cokato to big modern churches like St Andrew's Lutheran at Mahtomedi with seats for nearly 2000. We were based for quite a while at St Paul
and seemed to radiate out of there for a couple of weeks with summer camp
in between.

Cokato Water Tower This is a common site in the USA Every town in the flat lands has at least one and this is a very typical shape |
Another water tower at, well you can read it for yorself. Hard to say isn't it? Each tower has the name of the town/area on it - great for navigating. |
