The day after the concert
we left Havre early for the 300 mile journey to Williston in the next state.
On the way we passed through the small town of Glasgow, nothing like the
city of the same name in Scotland. The roads are frequently very straight and this section was like a rollercoaster for quite a long distance. On American roads the centre markers, and also the lane markers, are in yellow, with white being reserved for the sides. The lines mean pretty much the same as they do in England. Roads in Canada are similar to this. There are few roundabouts is North America, the closest they have is a 4-way stop; similar to a mini-roundabout, give way to traffic from the right, but without the mound in the centre. Traffic lights go Green Amber Red as usual, but from Red to Green without Amber. Red means Stop, but you can turn right on a Red light providing the way is clear. Canada is the same as this
with the addition of the flashing Green light on pedestrian crossings.
This flashing Green light warns drivers that the light will change straight
to Red when a pedestrian presses the button.
