Local Attractions
Wainhouse Tower
Built as a chimney for a local dye works in 1871, but was never used. Wainhouse had a good appreciation of architecture, and insisted that the chimney be an object of beauty. The tower is usually open on Bank Holidays, and for a small fee you can climb the stone staircase of 273 steps to an obervation platform near to the top. The effort is well worth it.
